Patented design featuring a tapered cross section to ensure the hinge butt plates do not come into contact. This occurs when the butt plate(s) do not lay deep enough into the milled recess and come into contact as the door closes. When this happens, the door resists the last few inches of closure and tries to “spring back.”

Predictable results with the use of our precise thickness of hinge shims which always gives the exact amount of adjustment you need. You do not risk “over bending” a hinge butt plate with this precise adjustment.

Hinge Shims are available in three convenient sizes for residential, commercial, interior and exterior door hinges. Quite often, a piece of cardboard (or other construction site debris) is used behind the hinge when installing a door or correcting an out of alignment jamb.
